Employers might believe hiring an F-1 international student requires them to immediately sponsor the student for an H-1B visa, which is not the case. Students seeking OPT sponsorship might need to educate potential employers about their ability to obtain employment authorization with the help of our Global Support office and/or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
